Order Processing Specialist
- Process error free customer purchase orders in a timely and efficient manner.
- Achieve departmental goals by meeting or exceeding the on-time order processing objective.
- Achieve individual and departmental productivity goals.
- Complete cross-training to perform all sales support functions accurately and effectively.
- Uphold the Merit Brass corporate mission statement, acting with a sense of urgency and upholding the core values as published.
- Maintain a professional, ethical, and respectful attitude while exercising teamwork.
- Enter customer orders within established order-processing timeframes and departmental performance standards.
- Receive, review, and process customer orders accurately and efficiently.
- Collaborate with internal departments to support the timely and accurate processing of customer purchase orders.
- Assist in identifying root causes and implementing corrective actions related to errors, process gaps, and departmental performance goals.
- Participate in required training and cross-training to support current responsibilities and future role development.
- Demonstrate teamwork and personal accountability while performing additional duties and responsibilities assigned by the department supervisor.
- Work overtime as business needs require and as directed by a manager or supervisor.
- Communicate professionally and foster effective teamwork within the department and across cross-functional teams.
- High school diploma, GED, or equivalent.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, including clear speech and grammatically correct writing.
- Ability to learn, retain, and apply an extensive product and part-number matrix.
- Ability to quickly learn and effectively use computer software systems.
- Strong organizational skills, with the ability to multitask, prioritize responsibilities, and manage workflow effectively.
- Demonstrated accuracy, focus, and attention to detail.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook.
- Dependable work habits, including consistent attendance, punctuality, and a strong work ethic.
- Ability to remain effective and maintain accuracy during periods of fluctuating workload.
- Ability and willingness to perform additional duties as assigned in support of overall Merit Brass operations.
