Select Sires, Inc. is currently seeking candidates to join our team as a Herd Management Solutions ( HMS) Specialist . This hourly, non-exempt position is at our Westby, WI or Plain City, OH facility and reports to the Director of Herd Management Solutions, Jill Strangstalien.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Specific duties and responsibilities of a Herd Management Solutions ( HMS) Specialist include, but are not limited to,
- Serve as a positive representation of the Select Sires, Inc. Mission and Core Values.
- Provide herd management solutions, product knowledge, and sales support to member coops and producers via phone calls, emails, text messages, on-farm visits, and/or any other communication methods.
- Oversee continuing follow-up communication when applicable.
- Marketing of Herd Management Solutions products by working with the PR/Communications team, providing valuable input for their creation of marketing tools. This includes but is not limited to, a professional publication advertising schedule and ads, Select Sires directories, technical data sheets, brochures/flyers, newsletter, a resource guide, website content, email blasts, social media posts, videos, podcasts, and other sales need to support and/or as requested by the member coops.
- Work closely with the Talent and Development team on the creation and continued upkeep of HMS content for the online Select Sires University.
- Work closely with the Talent and Development team regarding HMS introduction for New Employee Orientation sessions.
- Oversee HMS content on the MySelect Website.
- Work closely with vendor partners, assuring that all HMS product labels are accurate and meet federal regulations.
- Work closely with vendor partners for the label, tech sheet, and MSDS development for new HMS products.
- Maintain up-to-date digital and hard copy binder of all HMS Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS)
- Work with sales representatives and customers to coordinate, implement, and analyze data for on-farm trials.
- Work closely with the Communications team and Genetics Staff to unite marketing concepts of animal performance goals and HMS solutions.
- Responsible for keeping an accurate account of all member cooperative promotional funds, requests to vendor partners, and reimbursement to coops as applicable.
- Work closely with field personnel, coop staff, and PR/Communications team to create picture, testimonial, and sales rep libraries.
- Work closely with the Director of HMS for on-farm product trials, including coordination, implementation, and analysis.
- Work closely with the Director of HMS, vendor partners, World Wide Sires, and distributors on Latin America and Mexico's registration, product knowledge, and order processing.
- Promote HMS and company image by participating in agriculture exhibitions (trade shows), producer, and industry events.
- Oversee online account adjustments for online AI Beef Certificate transactions.
- Knowledge of the CowManager® system and informational sourcing to better assist customers in improving overall animal health and productivity, including on-farm trial organization, implementation, and analysis
- Develop a core understanding of both HMS and genetic product lines.
A Herd Management Solutions (HMS) Specialist's work schedule is Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM. Work schedules and duties are subject to change to meet departmental needs.

REQUIRED SKILLS AND ABILITES OF A HERD MANAGEMENT SOLUTIONS (HMS) SPECIALIST:
- Basic knowledge of dairy/beef nutrition and calf-raising
- Excellent computer skills in Microsoft Office (Primarily Word, Excel, and PowerPoint)
- Detail-oriented; Results-driven
- Exceptional communication skills, both oral and written
- Pleasant and positive attitude; ability to work as part of a team in a positive manner
- Time management
- Ability to organize and manage multiple priorities
- Problem-solving abilities and self-motivated with a strong work ethic
- Willing to travel domestically
- Acceptable driving record
PREFERRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE OF A STAFF ACCOUNTANT:
- Associate Degree in Agriculture - B.S. degree in Animal Science or related dairy/beef course
- Two years of animal health and/or nutrition including customer service, sales, or marketing experience

WORK AUTHORIZATION
