JOB DESCRIPTION

Recovery Center of Ohio’s mission is to help individuals recover from mental health and substance use disorders. We are an agency committed to quality gender-responsive, trauma-informed care to clients with substance use and co-occurring disorders. The Outreach Specialist seeks to establish business-to-business relationships by networking with community providers and creating a referral network where clients are referred to our agency for substance use treatment services.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Establish direct relationships with clients in the community and assist with self-referral into services
• Establishing relationships with shelters, transitional housing programs, probation and parole, local hospitals, inpatient facilities, etc. for networking and referrals
• Use a strengths-based and trauma-informed approach to work collaboratively with clients and internal and external team members to help support clients in their treatment and recovery
• Remain in compliance with internal and external policies, procedures, regulations, and standards, including all of the agencies policies and procedures and Quality Assurance Plan
• Participate in all assigned meetings, staff development, and training as required

Skills required

• Knowledge of community relations and outreach experience
• Knowledge of goals and objectives of various public services and programs
• Knowledge of community resources for the homeless
• Knowledge of local community needs and public resources
• Experience in outreach and recruitment program management

Requirements

• HS diploma or GED
• Related Associate’s degree preferred
• Community outreach experience
• Strong interpersonal and engagement skills
• Strong organizational and time-management skills
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Strong computer skills
• Ability to support the agency’s mission and philosophy, and demonstrate sensitivity to cultural diversity and workplace harmony
• Value for and ability to deliver excellent customer service

Additional Job Requirements:

• Must have the ability to effectively hear and communicate with other employees, the public, and persons served.
• Must have reliable transportation, have/maintain valid driver’s license, and maintain adequate automobile insurance.
• Travel is required as part of this position.
• Ability to operate telephone, fax machine, and computer hardware/software, etc.
• Must have the ability to write in a manner that is legible/readable/understandable.
• Willingness to work in a high stress environment that is driven by team performance.
