Under broad supervision, reconciles and adjusts various general ledger accounts and/or bank statements. May perform moderately complex analysis of performance results. Compiles, consolidates, and analyzes accounting and finance information for the production of financial statements and reports. Role typically requires between 3 and 5 years of experience.

Basic Purpose/Scope

The Staff Accountant's role will be to assist the Finance team in preparing and reviewing financial documents and assisting in month-end closings. The Staff Accountant will be responsible for preparing customer invoices, preparing/entering journal entries, account analysis, and state sales tax reports. The candidate will also serve as the backup for payroll processing and accounts receivable.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Assist with the monthly financial close process by preparing journal entries and account analysis.

• Prepare month-end reporting.

• Timely processing of customer invoices daily.

• Assisting in ADP Payroll Processing and Reporting.

• Prepare state sales tax reports.

• Backup for Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable.

• Maintenance Support our expense reporting system (Expensify).

• Assist with the reconciliation of balance sheets and bank accounts.

• Perform other duties as assigned.

Desired Minimum Qualifications

Education and Experience:

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance required.

• At least two years of related work experience in accounting.

Necessary Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

• Good technical accounting skills.

• Ability to explain and interpret fiscal-related policies and general accounting.

• Proven mathematical, problem-solving, and analytical skills.

• Excellent computer skills. Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Word.

• Excellent oral and written communication skills.

• Accuracy and attention to detail; the ability to follow up and meet deadlines is a must.

• Ability to take the initiative, display confidence, and work in a team environment.

Physical Demands

The Staff Accountant will be required to continuously sit; intermittent amounts of walking, standing, twisting, bending, and pushing/pulling or lifting/lowering up to approximately 5 lbs. is required.

Work Environment

The Staff Accountant works primarily indoors in an office environment where temperatures fluctuate, and the noise level is typically moderate.
