Consumers demand functional yet exciting beverages. In this Global Role, you will report to Head of Apply, Science & Technology, and your focus will be to innovate in flavor creation for the sweet taste and hydration platform while supporting all regional innovation needs. You will be expected to work collaboratively in a cross-functional environment. This position is onsite in our Cincinnati, Ohio creation center and is an individual contributor with high impact.

• Flavor Research and Evaluation: Execute on Sweet taste category research projects as main focus with Citrus also a prioity. Evaluate materials developed internally or from external sources and assess potential for flavor creation. Formulate flavors with new technologies to meet project requirements for beverage, dairy, and a wide range of other applications that meet defined project needs, including success criteria, regulatory compliance, cost, production requirements.

• Expertise Knowledge Sharing and Partnering: Develop an internal network with regional flavorists and other functions. Use differences in styles, thinking and approaches. Be a technical expert. Coach, train, motivate, and mentor flavor assistants. Participate and learn about all departments (analytical chemistry, sensory, consumer understanding, regulatory, flavor delivery, and manufacturing). Be an advisor to internal customer for ingredient and flavor performance. Contribute to discussions of research plans, sensory results/insights, making experimental observations.

• Project Management: Support regions and customers on innovation and technologies. Manage assigned projects and provide flavors which meet all defined project needs while following good manufacturing practices, sample scale-up, production requirements, and regulatory compliance. Participate actively in innovation strategy development and execution. Bring new ideas and projects to the innovation pipeline.

You?

• Advanced Degree in Food Science, Chemistry, Biology and any experience in a food applications lab, production or related area
• 15+ year experience as a Flavorist after completion of an industry standard flavorist training program
• Flavor Creation experience in sweet taste modulation, citrus, all beverages, and other applications
• Demonstrate expert level tasting skills and ability to understand how to adjust a flavor formulation in the direction needed for flavor modifications
• Expert level of raw materials and flavor ingredients knowledge
• Expert level knowledge of global regulatory requirements
• Expert level knowledge of analytical methodologies (GC, HPLC, Mass Spec.)
