Welder / Trailer Mechanic

R & J Trucking located at 2070 W. 3rd St, Cleveland, OH 44113 is looking for an experienced Welder / Mechanic to maintain our fleet!

Job Description:

As a Welder / Mechanic at R & J Trucking, you will be responsible for making repairs to trailers as needed. These repairs could range from repairing trailer floors, to fabricating body parts, to making mechanical repairs as needed.

Welder / Mechanic Schedule:

• Monday-Friday: 7:00 A.M.-3:00 P.M.
• Saturdays after holidays (O.T.)

Welder / Mechanic Responsibilities:

• Weld and repair floors/body panels.
• Straighten and repair tailgates.
• Repair and diagnose air brake systems.
• Communicate potential issues with equipment to other departments.
• Perform other welding repairs as assigned.

Welder / Mechanic Benefits:

• Starting pay is $24 an hour and up depending on experience
• Quarterly attendance bonus ($100)

Welder / Mechanic Qualifications:

• Valid driver’s license
• 1+ years of experience as a Welder / Fabricator is required
• 3+ years of experience is a plus.
• 5+ years of experience is a bonus.
• 1+ years of experience as a diesel mechanic or automotive mechanic is preferred
• High school diploma or equivalent; technical training or certification in a diesel/welding/fitting program is a plus
• Knowledge of diesel engines, their components, and systems is a plus.
• Ability to diagnose issues with welding and cutting equipment is a plus
• Excellent problem-solving and time management skills.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety.
• Good communication and teamwork skills.
