Production Hi-Lo Driver
POSITION SCOPE:
The Production Hi/Lo Material Handler role is to support manufacturing operations by facilitating the movement of materials, maintaining inventory accuracy, and contributing to the safe and efficient operation of the facility.
SAFETY, QUALITY, & ENVIRONMENTAL OVERALL RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Act in compliant with the company Health & Safety policies and procedures including any applicable legislation.
- Notify the appropriate personnel of any situation or condition that may contribute to production non-conformity.
- Comply with the Environmental Policy and contribute to its goals and objectives accordingly.
DUTIES / RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Material Movement: Forklift drivers are responsible for transporting raw materials, components, and finished products within the plant premises. Hi Lo Drivers move raw material and finished products to and from the production floor to trailers and storage areas using forklifts or other material handling equipment.
- Supply Chain Support: Forklift drivers assist in maintaining the flow of materials throughout the production process. They deliver materials to production lines according to schedule, ensuring that production teams have the necessary components to meet production targets.
- Inventory Management: Forklift drivers often work closely with inventory control personnel to manage stock levels and track inventory movements. They may perform tasks such as counting inventory, updating inventory records, and locating materials within the plant's storage areas.
- Safety Compliance: Safety is a top priority in manufacturing plants, and forklift drivers must adhere to safety regulations and protocols to prevent accidents and injuries. They operate forklifts safely, follow designated traffic lanes, and use appropriate safety equipment such as seat belts and helmets.
- Perform and maintain all 5S Standardization per company 5S policy.
- Other duties and tasks as assigned or required.
EDUCATION/ QUALIFICATIONS:
- A high school diploma or equivalent is usually the minimum requirement for this position.
- Preference for any forklift certifications or specialized training to operate, however training will also be done in house
