Position Overview:
The Operations Leasing & Sales Intern supports the daily operations of the neighborhood office while gaining hands-on experience in property management. This role focuses on assisting with apartment home showings, supporting local marketing efforts, and following up with prospective residents. The intern will develop strong sales acumen, customer service and communication skills through regular interaction with prospects, residents, and onsite team members. Our internship provides professional-level learning in leasing, sales, marketing, customer relationship management, business and financial management. As such, you will be expected to act as a Redwood brand ambassador, promote our brand and provide the best resident experience possible. All Redwood employees are expected to conduct all organizational business and practices in accordance with Redwood company policies.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Learn Redwood’s sales process & assist with conducting apartment tours for prospective residents
  • Answer and direct incoming phone calls and emails in a professional manner
  • Learn and maintain knowledge of neighborhood pricing, specials, and promotions, and communicate updates as needed
  • Conduct external marketing outreach efforts in the community
  • Assist with scheduling resident appointments to discuss lease renewals and leasing options
  • Complete and organize move‑in documentation and paperwork
  • Assist with processing lease applications and communicating next steps to prospective residents
  • Help ensure community grounds are well maintained and report any concerns to the maintenance team
  • Follow company standards related to documentation, resident files, budgets, and controlled expenses
  • Travel between Redwood neighborhoods as needed
  • Perform other related duties as assigned

Required Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Valid driver’s license
  • General computer efficiency

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Exceptional customer service skills
  • Ability to operate smartphone, tablet, and computers

  • Be enrolled in a college or university as a rising or current junior or senior by the start of the internship.
  • Currently pursuing a Leasing, Sales or Marketing undergraduate degree

Physical Requirements:

  • Must be able to use standard office equipment such as computers, desk phones, cell phones, photocopiers, etc.
  • Must be able to sit for extended periods of time, stand, bend, and walk with the ability to lift 20 pounds occasionally.

Attendance and Scheduling:

  • Punctuality and consistent attendance are essential for success in this role, and employees must adhere to set start times and assigned schedules.

Work Environment:

  • Job is performed in-office or onsite at a Redwood Neighborhood(s).
  • Exposure to varying indoor temperatures depending on location in the building and season.
  • Combination of natural daylight and standard office lighting throughout the workspace.
  • Movement across multiple flooring types, including tile, carpet, and other transitions.
