SUMMARY This position will have global/regional/local responsibilities for driving competitive commodity and category supply strategies ensuring lowest Total Cost and overall Best Value for the organization. Reducing working capital and inventory by negotiation planning and execution. Utilize Strategic Sourcing and Value Engineering for sole and single sourced supply base elimination. You will manage Supplier Relationships including supplier performance to support the commodity/category and/or business to ensure supply continuity. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES These are the most significant job duties performed. The size, scope and complexity of assigned duties and responsibilities are dependent on the level and experience of the incumbent.   • Responsible for strategic sourcing categories and/or commodities following the 5 step ITW Strategic Sourcing process. Responsible for structuring and negotiating supplier contracts to manage risk and ensure consistency with overall sourcing strategy. Track record of working with Lean principles and implementing Kanban with suppliers. Establish a rolling 3-year Strategic Sourcing pipeline. (30%)
  • Responsible for Supplier Relationship Management. Work with suppliers to reduce total cost of ownership. Identifies, evaluates, and selects preferred suppliers. Develops and manages strategic relationships with preferred suppliers. Monitor and improve supplier performance (scorecard) in terms of delivery, quality, and cost. Implement root cause and correction action for discrepant material and parts from suppliers. (20%)
  • Partners with product development team and/or Product Managers and Quality in New Product Development. This includes identification and qualification of suppliers for new products and sourcing new parts for BOM and Kits. (10%)
  • Build a Strategic Sourcing playbook. Be a change management champion. Drive continuous improvement to documented processes and procedures. (30%)
  • Lead or participate in cross-functional teams to develop requirements and enterprise strategy to identify suppliers, establish service level agreements and key performance indicator requirements, and monitors performance consistent with established goals and performance measures. (10%)
Supervisory Responsibilities
  • This position has supervisory responsibilities and carries out these responsibilities in accordance with the ITW's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees, addressing complaints, coaching/mentoring for performance and resolving problems.
  • These supervisory responsibilities for the sourcing function must be in line with the goals and objectives set forth by the Strategic Procurement Manager.
QUALIFICATIONS The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required to perform this job successfully. Education and Work Experience Bachelor's Degree in business, Materials, Supply Chain, Engineering, or related field. 4+ years of Procurement experience 4+ years Team Lead/Supervisory experience Desired Education/Experience 5+ years in Strategic Sourcing is preferred, but not required. Certificates and Licenses Certification of Professional Supply Chain Management is preferred but not required. Six Sigma Green Belt Preferred but not required Job —Specific Knowledge To perform this job successfully, the individual needs to demonstrate knowledge of these areas as they relate to the primary functions of the job.
  • Able to utilize business and market data to identify and prioritize sourcing opportunities.
  • Must possess strong negotiation skills.
  • Able to identify and manage projects from concept to implementation and successfully drive project results.
  • Expertise in the sourcing of raw materials (i.e., metals, plastics) and parts/components used in manufacturing. Experience in outsourcing is a plus.
  • Successful sourcing of greater than $20M annual spend.
  • Global Sourcing experience a plus.
COMPETENCIES To perform the job successfully, an individual should demonstrate the following competencies. Technical and Analytical Skills
  • Working knowledge of Windows applications and Microsoft Office programs (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint)
  • Experience in Microsoft Dynamics 365 for Finance and Operations a plus
  • Strong negotiation skills
  • Ability to read and interpret large amounts of data and make decisions using that information.

  • Sound judgment and excellent written communication skills
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate orally with individuals from within and outside of the organization. International experience a plus

The employee is required to stand, walk, reach with hands and arms; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Working Conditions Professional office environment and occasional time spent in a warehouse and/or manufacturing environment.
