We are looking for a Payroll Specialist to join a non-profit organization in Canton, Ohio in a contract-to-permanent capacity. This position focuses on managing end-to-end payroll operations for approximately 130 employees on a biweekly schedule while supporting accurate reporting and employee pay-related needs. The ideal candidate brings hands-on payroll processing experience, strong attention to detail, and confidence working with Paycom or a comparable payroll platform.
Responsibilities:• Administer complete biweekly payroll processing for a workforce of roughly 130 employees, ensuring timely and accurate pay distribution.
• Maintain payroll records and prepare reports that support auditing, reconciliation, and internal review needs.
• Review and process wage garnishments, deductions, and benefit-related payroll updates in accordance with company policies and legal requirements.
• Enter, verify, and update employee payroll data to ensure earnings, taxes, and withholdings are recorded correctly.
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders to address payroll questions, resolve discrepancies, and support day-to-day payroll operations.
• Monitor payroll compliance activities related to applicable labor regulations and standard payroll practices.
• Assist with workers’ compensation and other payroll-related administrative tasks as needed.
• Support weekday payroll operations and help maintain a dependable processing schedule from Monday through Friday.• At least 1 year of experience handling full-cycle payroll in a detail-oriented environment.
• Experience processing payroll for an employee population within the 101 to 500 employee range.
• Familiarity with Paycom is preferred; experience with a similar payroll system is also acceptable.
• Working knowledge of payroll reporting, reconciliations, and payroll data review.
• Experience managing garnishments, deductions, and employee benefit payroll entries.
• Understanding of payroll compliance requirements, including Department of Labor considerations.
• Strong accuracy, organizational skills, and ability to manage recurring deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
