Martin Painting & Coating is excited to announce an opening for a Full-Time Skilled Commercial Painter, ready to start immediately. Located in the heart of Columbus, OH, this opportunity is ideal for individuals eager to apply their painting skills in commercial and industrial environments. This position is not eligible for remote work; hence, the candidate must be prepared for on-site tasks wherein they can demonstrate their painting prowess directly on various projects.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Prepare surfaces for painting, including cleaning, scraping, sanding, or other methods to achieve a clean, smooth surface.
• Apply paint, varnishes, and sealants using brushes, rollers, and spray equipment to various surfaces in commercial and industrial settings.
• Match and mix paint and other finishes to desired colors and consistencies.
• Utilize and maintain tools and equipment related to paint applications, ensuring they are in good working condition and adherent to safety standards.
• Coordinate with project managers and other team members to meet quality and timeline targets.
• Maintain a clean and organized work environment to uphold safety and efficiency standards.
• Follow established protection protocols closely, including the use of safety gear and adherence to all relevant safety guidelines and regulations.
• Assist in the setup and dismantling of scaffolding and ladders necessary for completing high-reaching spaces safely.
• Inspect and perform touch-ups or repairs to painted surfaces as needed to ensure high-quality finishes and longevity.
• Communicate effectively with clients and team members to provide updates and ensure satisfaction.

Requirements

• 1+ years experience as a painter in commercial or industrial settings.
• Proficient in using manual and power tools associated with painting, including brushes, rollers, and sprayers.
• Strong knowledge of various painting techniques and the characteristics of different paint types used on commercial and industrial projects.
• Ability to match and mix paint colors accurately.
• High school diploma or equivalent; formal training in painting or a related field is preferred.
• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
• Capable of physical tasks involving stretching, bending, lifting up to 50 pounds, and standing for extended periods.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to delivering high-quality workmanship.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
• Must adhere to safety protocols and wear personal protective equipment as required for the task.
