Senior Controls Engineer
- Support day-to-day operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of control systems across CHP and utility assets
- Maintain and optimize Rockwell PlantPAx DCS, Allen-Bradley PLCs, and FactoryTalk applications
- Diagnose and resolve issues related to PLCs, HMIs, industrial networks, and field instrumentation
- Support commissioning, startup, and system integration activities
- Maintain historian systems (eDNA, AVEVA PI), ensuring data integrity and interface reliability
- Collaborate with operations, maintenance, IT/OT teams, and third-party vendors
- Support industrial network infrastructure (switches, firewalls, protocols such as EtherNet/IP, Modbus TCP, OPC)
- Ensure compliance with cybersecurity standards and ENGIE OT policies
- Develop and maintain technical documentation (control narratives, network diagrams, configurations)
- Identify and implement system improvements to enhance reliability and performance
- A minimum associates degree in Electrical/Electronics or Controls with a minimum of eight (8) years of experience or in lieu of an associates degree
- This role requires attendance at a worksite on a daily basis
- Must be available to travel domestically up to 10% of the time
- Must be willing to participate in on-call rotations and may require support outside normal business hours
- Must possess a valid U.S. driver's license; may drive company vehicle
- Must be willing and able to comply with all ENGIE ethics and safety policies
- This position consists of 20% of outdoor work, while performing the duties of this job, the employee is exposed to weather conditions
- Demonstrated ability to independently troubleshoot and lead resolution of complex controls issues using Allen-Bradley PLCs, FactoryTalk, and PlantPAx (or equivalent DCS platforms such as PCS7 or Ovation).
- Experience in power generation, utilities, or other mission-critical industrial environments with a strong understanding of industrial networking and OT systems.
- Experience utilizing historian platforms such as eDNA and AVEVA PI for operational monitoring, analysis, and performance improvement.
- Familiarity with industrial cybersecurity practices and applying security principles within industrial control systems environments.
- Ability to work safely in industrial plant settings, including heat, noise, confined spaces, and elevated areas, while effectively managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
