(40 hours a week; Mon - Wed 6pm - 4am ; Thurs 10pm - 6am )

We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Direct Support Professional to join our team. In this role, you will provide essential support and care to individuals with developmental disabilities, ensuring their well-being and enhancing their quality of life. You will work closely with clients in various settings, including group homes, assisted living facilities, and in-home care environments. Your responsibilities will include assisting with daily living activities, monitoring health and safety, and fostering a supportive and engaging environment.

Responsibilities

• Assist clients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and meal preparation.
• Med Cert 1 is a must
• Provide personal care and support to individuals with developmental disabilities,
• Monitor client health by checking vital signs and observing changes in behavior or condition.
• Implement care plans tailored to each individual’s needs, ensuring adherence to prescribed routines.
• Assist in medication administration as directed by healthcare professionals.
• Maintain a clean and safe environment for clients through regular cleaning and organization of living spaces.
• Engage clients in meaningful activities that promote social interaction and cognitive stimulation.
• Support clients during transportation to appointments or community outings as needed.
• Collaborate with healthcare providers and family members to ensure comprehensive care for clients.

Requirements

• Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities or in similar caregiving roles is preferred.
• Knowledge of first aid and CPR certification is highly desirable.
• Familiarity with HIPAA regulations to ensure client confidentiality is maintained.
• Ability to perform heavy lifting when assisting clients or moving equipment (e.g., Hoyer lift).
• Strong observational skills for patient monitoring and recognizing changes in client conditions.
• Experience in home health, hospice care, or long-term care settings is advantageous.
• Excellent communication skills for effective interaction with clients, families, and team members.
