We currently have an opening for an iSeries Administrator located at the Data Center in Downtown Columbus, OH.
This position is responsible the maintenance, support and administration of the Racksquared iSeries environment. The responsibilities of this position encompass backups, restores, patching, building, replication and daily support of multiple iSeries environments. This position will be working with storage, Fibre Channel, VIOS and various other monitoring and support tools.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities Include:

• Primary interface and point of contact for customer onboarding and support for our iSeries cloud solutions.
• Responsible for the support and maintenance of the iSeries environment.
• This role will be the escalation point from any critical system outages, and will be expected to be on-call 24x7 for critical system outages.
• Responsible of proactive monitoring and performance tuning of an iSeries environment that includes but is not limited to monitoring of disk space, system and application errors, memory and space utilization, disk performance, CPU, system processes, etc.
• Responsible of backups/archives/restores – configure and automate system, application and database backups; perform restores as needed. Need to comply with RTOs and RPOs are required by the different SLAs.
• Participate in and contribute to an effective change control process.
• Performs effectively and timely in a fast-paced environment.
• Perform IBM i Administration: system installs, PTF deployment, software installation, configuration, custom development, and security.
• Basic understanding of replication software.
• Basic understanding of fabric and SAN management and how it interacts with partitions.
• Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications Include:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or Information Technology or 3–5 years’ experience administering IBM iSeries systems
• An understanding of IBM VIOS and HMC
• Experience with backup & recovery solutions & products.
• Proven ability in performing Operating System upgrades and applying patches to iSeries systems
