Mechanical Service Engineer
Title: Field Service Technician & Mechanical Assembler
Shift: Full-time, specific shift times to be discussed
Salary: $25.00 - $30.00 per hour, with overtime pay available and dependent on experience
Field Service Technician & Mechanical Assembler Role:
Our client is seeking a versatile individual responsible for both precision mechanical assembly in a production environment and providing on-site technical service, troubleshooting, and repairs for mechanical equipment, often requiring immediate and extensive travel. This role exists to ensure the proper assembly of complex machinery and to provide essential field support to maintain optimal equipment performance.
Field Service Technician & Mechanical Assembler Responsibilities:
- Travel domestically and internationally on short notice for service assignments
- Troubleshoot and diagnose mechanical issues on various equipment
- Perform precise fitting and assembly of bearings, setting and adjusting preloads
- Assemble and align gearboxes and drive units with close tolerances
- Read and interpret hydraulic schematics, prints, and diagrams
- Assemble and crimp hydraulic hoses and work with hydraulic components
- Disassemble and reassemble complex mechanical assemblies
Field Service Technician & Mechanical Assembler Reporting Relationships:
- This candidate will report to the Production Manager and will not have any direct reports.
About You:
- Possess the ability to travel extensively and on short notice
- Demonstrate strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills (at least 5-7 years experience)
- Understand and apply tight tolerances in assembly processes
- Read and interpret technical diagrams and schematics
- Work effectively with hydraulic systems and components
- Perform hand drilling and tapping operations accurately
