Salon & Property Manager - AM Phenix- Phenix Salon Suites Westerville & Polaris
Provide on-site salon management and daily cleaning for both of our Columbus locations. Project a professional company image through in-person and phone interaction.
The Salon Manager role at Phenix Salon Suites is both rewarding and flexible. You will work closely with new and existing salon professionals as they operate their independent businesses within our suites. Our community includes a diverse range of lifestyle professionals, from hairstylists and estheticians to medspa practitioners and tattoo artists.
This is a highly independent position; you will often be the only team member on-site. There is no staff to manage, however, you will be the tenant’s main point of contact for all needs, including emergencies. The Salon Manager communicates with and reports to their Director on a daily basis.
The base schedule is Monday through Friday, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. However, flexibility is essential to this role. Occasional evening availability may be required to accommodate tenant appointments, tours, or site needs.
PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The Salon Coordinator will have a unique hybrid role of maintaining both sites in Columbus, performing the following duties at both locations on dedicated days.
- Common area detailed cleaning, including floors, bathrooms, break room, emptying trash, dusting, windows and baseboards as needed.
- Must maintain high standards for cleanliness.
- Perform general clerical duties to include but not limited to printing and distribution of memos, entering rental payments and managing renter files.
- Immediately address and report site problems and maintenance issues to the Director of Operations.
- Coordinate and oversee any outside vendors or subcontractors that are needed for site services and/or repair.
- Help maintain proper management of laundry machines.
- Give site tours as needed when vacancy happens and maintain an “on-call’ list of prospects as they become available.
- Reach out and follow up with potential leads regularly.
- Collect and deposit weekly rent checks from the rent box.
- Strictly enforce Phenix policies and notify/collect any late rent payments.
- Communicate efficiently with the Director of Operations regarding new tenants and any rent issues with salon professionals.
- Put together a monthly cleaning/operations supply order.
- Occasionally patch walls, touch up paint, and move salon equipment.
- Take welcome photos of all new tenants.
- Occasionally assist with career fairs, open houses, or other marketing events.
- Must keep work phone on at all times and check daily in case of emergencies.
WORK CONTACTS
- Daily in-person interaction with tenants and their customers will be standard.
- Communication with the Director of Operations around any issues at site including, but not limited to maintenance issues, delinquent rent issues, problems with vendors, etc.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
- Standing for long periods of time
- Ability to occasionally tilt/push/pull 80 lbs. (Shampoo bowl, hand sink, salon chairs)
- Ability to bend, stoop and reach to clean high and low areas of the salon.
Schedule
- 25-30 hours a week, day shift, five days per week.
- Must have reliable transportation and willingness to commute between locations on scheduled days.
- Flexibility and reliability are critical to this role.
