CVOR RN Job Details

• Location: Columbus, OH 43210 – Central Ohio healthcare hub near Ohio State University, renowned restaurants, arts, and parks
• Setting: Cardiovascular Operating Room (CVOR), Heart & Vascular Surgery
• Employment Type: Locum Tenens (Travel Nursing Contract)
• Contract Duration: 13 weeks (October 6, 2025 – January 5, 2026)
• Shifts: Day shifts; 2 shifts of 8 hours and 2 shifts of 12 hours per week, scheduled between 6:30 AM and 11:00 PM
• Hours per Week: 40
• Estimated Weekly Salary: $2760–$2830
• Unit: CVOR, Operating Room Registered Nurse

CVOR Registered Nurse Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of Operating Room RN experience, with at least 2 years in cardiac and vascular surgery
• Proficient in both circulating and scrubbing for CVOR cases
• Current ACLS and BLS certifications (American Heart Association preferred)
• Active RN license (compact or Ohio state nursing license required at submission)
• Graduate of an ACEN or CCNE accredited nursing program
• Experience with Epic electronic health record (EHR) system
• Trauma Level I hospital experience required
• Two professional references (one from a nurse manager, director, or supervisor)
• Flu vaccination required (medical exemptions considered)

CVOR RN Responsibilities

• Scrub and circulate for a range of cardiac and vascular surgeries: CABG, valve replacements, AAA repairs, heart and lung transplants, and endovascular procedures (TAVR, EVAR, TEVAR, etc.)
• Maintain strict sterile technique and compliance with OR protocols
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams to deliver high-quality patient care
• Respond promptly to code situations and surgical emergencies
• Manage specimen handling, labeling, and accurate documentation
• Ensure adherence to safety standards, infection control, and universal protocols
• Provide clinical support for adult and geriatric patients in a fast-paced, high-acuity environment
