Saint-Gobain Life Sciences is seeking an experienced Production Supervisor to join our team in Akron, OH. The ideal candidate will oversee day-to-day operations in our extrusion department , while supporting compounding, material handling, and maintenance teams to ensure the achievement of facility and corporate objectives. This role requires strong leadership, operational expertise, and exceptional communication skills.

Key Responsibilities:

As a Production Supervisor , you will:

• Monitor and manage performance indicators related to production, quality, safety, and budget variances (40%).

• Lead personnel activities, including employee selection, training, skill assessment, overtime coordination, and discipline (30%).

• Ensure safety awareness: Promote and enforce safe work practices and compliance with company policies and procedures (10%).

• Drive continuous improvement by leading and prioritizing Lean, Six Sigma, and World-Class Manufacturing (WCM) projects (10%).

• Resolve manufacturing challenges: Provide technical support to prevent and address production and operational issues (10%).

Education:

• Preferred: Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business, or a related field.

Experience:

• Required: 1-5 years of supervisory experience, preferably in a unionized environment .

Skills:

• Strong computer skills (MS Office, production reporting, MRP systems, Kronos/UKG Timekeeping).

• Continuous improvement expertise (LEAN, Six Sigma, WCM).

• Excellent mathematical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.

• Ability to read schedules and metrics and act accordingly.

Leadership & Communication:

• Proven ability to adapt to change and lead teams with a positive and directive approach.

• Demonstrated capacity to build trust and empower employees.

• Strong collaboration and transparent communication skills.
