Travel RN Job Details – Columbus, OH

• Location: Columbus, OH 43210 (Ohio nursing jobs)
• Assignment Type: Travel Registered Nurse
• Unit: James Corrections Health Unit – Progressive Care Unit (PCU)
• Shift: 12-hour night shifts (7:00 PM – 7:30 AM), 3 shifts/week (36 hours/week)
• Contract Duration: 13 weeks (Start: 10/20/2025 – End: 1/19/2026)
• Patient Population: Adult corrections, oncology, and med-surg patients
• Charting System: EPIC (clinical documentation)
• Medication System: Pyxis
• Estimated Weekly Salary Range: $1940 - $1990

Registered Nurse Qualifications

• Active RN license (compact or Ohio state license required at submission)
• Minimum 2 years of recent RN experience (PCU, Med-Surg, or Telemetry preferred)
• Graduate of an ACEN or CCNE accredited nursing program
• BLS certification (required)
• ACLS and NIHSS certifications (preferred)
• EPIC charting experience (required)
• Oncology nursing experience preferred
• Ability to float between PCU and Oncology Med-Surg units
• Two professional references (one from a manager/director or supervisor required)
• Completion of Ohio fingerprinting process upon contract signing
• Flu vaccine required (medical exemptions only)

Travel Nurse Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality patient care to adults in a secure corrections healthcare setting
• Float to Oncology and Medical-Surgical units as needed
• Monitor and manage patients with oncology diagnoses, post-surgical needs, and complex medical conditions
• Interpret and manage cardiac dysrhythmias and telemetry monitoring
• Administer medications, including heparin protocols, cardiac drips (no titration), and IV insulin
• Perform blood product administration, central and peripheral line care, and PICC line management
• Manage respiratory support (CPAP/BIPAP, HFNC, tracheostomy care, oxygen therapy)
• Care for patients with feeding tubes, renal failure, and pre/post hemodialysis
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams (pharmacy, physical therapy, respiratory, rapid response)
• Ensure staff and patient safety in a locked, access-controlled environment
• Accurately document all care using EPIC
