The Grounds Technician I plays a key role in maintaining the overall cleanliness, safety, and aesthetic appeal of the property. This hands-on role supports landscaping, grounds maintenance, pressure washing, and contributing to the welcoming appearance and operational success of the site. This position requires a strong work ethic, attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
Essential Functions:
Landscaping & Grounds Maintenance:
- Assist in planting seasonal annuals, replacing plants, and maintaining flower beds, pots, trees and shrubs through pruning, weeding, watering, and cleaning.
- Support topsoil and seeding work throughout the property.
- Perform regular pressure washing of sidewalks and other public spaces as scheduled.
- Complete daily trash removal across the site.
- Blow down streetscapes and walkways daily to maintain a clean and welcoming environment.
- Maintain and organize work areas including the shop and project staging zones.
Seasonal Duties & Property Support:
- Assist with seasonal installations such as tree lights and holiday decorations, as well as removal when appropriate.
- Remain observant for safety or security concerns and report any issues that may negatively impact the property or tenant experience.
Other:
- Demonstrate company core values consistently.
- Complete additional tasks, projects, and responsibilities as assigned by your supervisor or the company.
Skills and Experience:
- Must be comfortable working outdoors in all weather conditions.
- Hands-on experience or comfort working with tools and landscaping equipment.
- Self-starter with a strong sense of responsibility and teamwork.
- Good verbal communication skills.
- Flexible schedule, including availability on weekends and holidays.
- Valid driver’s license required.
- Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs, operate landscaping equipment, perform repetitive physical tasks (e.g., bending, kneeling, standing, walking), and work at heights or on ladders as needed.
- Ability to work outdoors year-round in varying weather conditions and navigate large properties on foot multiple times per shift.
