Senior Developer – GenAI Engineer
Position Title: Senior Developer – GenAI Engineer
Location: Columbus, OH (Hybrid – 2-3 days per week in office to start) Employment Type: Full-time, Exempt
Salary Range: Up to $150,000 annually, commensurate with experience Eligibility: Must be a U.S. Citizen or Green Card holder
Position Overview: We are looking for a Senior Developer with strong GenAI expertise to support, maintain, and enhance our existing AI platforms and generative AI applications. The role emphasizes ongoing support, feature enhancements, and reliability for deployed solutions in a production setting, working closely with AI, DevOps, and engineering teams. This is not a greenfield development role but rather focused on sustaining and improving live AI products.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide maintenance, break/fix support, and enhancements for production AI applications (primarily Azure, with some AWS exposure).
- Develop and deploy improvements to AI tools and integrations.
- Support deployment and scaling of AI solutions in cloud environments.
- Collaborate on integrating AI components (e.g., NLP, generative models) into existing workflows.
- Work with use cases including sentiment analysis, recommendation systems, chatbots, and related automation.
- Document processes and contribute to team knowledge sharing.
- Stay current with AI tools, platforms, and best practices.
- Ensure system security, performance, and compliance standards.
- Participate in team-based 24/7 support rotation as needed.
Required Qualifications:
- Minimum 5+ years of full-stack or backend development experience (7+ preferred).
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or equivalent experience.
- Strong proficiency in Java (additional Scala or Python experience a plus).
- Solid understanding of RESTful APIs, microservices, websockets, and related technologies.
- Experience with version control (Git/BitBucket) and containerization technologies.
- Prior exposure to AI/ML development or generative AI platforms.
- Excellent problem-solving and communication skills for technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities.
- Curiosity and passion for generative AI applications.
Nice-to-Have Skills:
- Familiarity with Akka, Angular, gRPC, Linux, PostgreSQL, or DevOps practices.
- Experience supporting production NLP or ML models.
