Position Overview

The Senior Sourcing Analyst plays a key role in guiding the agency’s purchasing and contracting activities. This position leads complex procurement efforts, partners closely with program areas, analyzes supplier options, and ensures that acquisition strategies support both operational needs and fiscal responsibility.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead procurement projects that involve multi‑step evaluations, technical requirements, or multiple deliverables.
  • Collaborate with program staff and subject matter experts to understand service or product needs and translate them into clear, actionable sourcing plans.
  • Analyze proposals, pricing, supplier capabilities, and market conditions to support well‑informed purchasing decisions.
  • Recommend contract awards based on established review criteria and documented analysis.
  • Support negotiation efforts by summarizing key issues, identifying risks, and offering strategic options.
  • Monitor vendor progress once a contract has been awarded and assist in resolving performance concerns or cost issues.
  • Research purchasing trends, evaluate alternatives, and advise leadership on opportunities to improve sourcing processes.
  • Design and implement methods to identify potential suppliers, assess qualifications, and ensure competitive opportunities.
  • Review requisitions, purchase orders, and contract requests to verify alignment with policy and project objectives.

This is an hourly position covered by the OCSEA/AFSCME bargaining unit (union), with a pay range of 31 on the OCSEA Pay Range Schedule . Normal working hours are Monday - Friday, 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM. This position is located within our Central Office at James A. Rhodes Tower .

Unless required by any applicable union contract and/or requirements of the Ohio Revised Code, the selected candidate will begin at Step 1 of the pay range schedule listed above, with an opportunity for pay increase after six months of satisfactory performance and then a yearly raise thereafter.

Additional Salary / Appointment Information:

UNUSUAL WORKING CONDITIONS: May require travel; may be required to work long or unusual hours during peak operational periods.

Qualifications

Position Qualifications

Completion of undergraduate core program in public or business administration, purchasing, materials management, contracting, acquisition management or logistics, supply chain management, operations management or other sourcing related field; 6 mos. exp. or 6 mos. trg. in purchasing/procurement/sourcing.

  • Or 30 mos. exp. or 30 mos. trg. in purchasing/procurement/sourcing.
  • Or 12 mos. exp. as Sourcing Analyst, 64512.
  • Or equivalent of Minimum Class Qualifications for Employment noted above
