Senior Transportation Structural Engineer – Hunt Valley, MD

Location: Hunt Valley, MD | Job Type: Full-Time | Shift: Day

About the Role:
We are seeking a Senior Transportation Structural Engineer with 12–20 years of experience to lead the design of new and rehabilitation bridge projects . This senior role oversees structural design, manages project scopes and budgets, coordinates with clients and subconsultants, and mentors junior engineers. Ideal candidates are Licensed Professional Engineers (PE) in Maryland with hands-on experience in AASHTO LRFD bridge design and familiarity with Maryland Department of Transportation (MDOT) projects .

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead structural design for transportation and bridge projects .
• Manage multiple projects, ensuring quality, schedule, and budget compliance .
• Prepare contract bid documents and oversee construction phase services.
• Coordinate with subconsultants and maintain strong client relationships.
• Supervise and mentor design engineers and drafting personnel.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

• 12–20 years of experience in structural design for transportation infrastructure .
• Licensed Professional Engineer (PE) in Maryland .
• Expertise in AASHTO LRFD bridge design .
• Strong knowledge of steel, reinforced concrete, and prestressed concrete structures .
• Excellent project management, communication, and leadership skills .

Preferred Qualifications:

• MS in Civil Engineering .
• 6+ years leading design engineers and drafting personnel.
