ER Registered Nurse Job Details

• Location: Columbus, Ohio (43210) – Central Ohio healthcare jobs in a thriving urban setting with beautiful parks, dining, and arts.
• Employment Type: Travel Nurse (Locum Tenens)
• Healthcare Setting: Oncology Immediate Care Center (ICC) & Emergency Department (ED)
• Shifts: Rotating Day (07:00 - 19:30) and Night (19:30 - 07:30); 3x12-hour shifts per week
• Hours per Week: 36
• Assignment Duration: 13 weeks (Start: 10/20/2025 – End: 1/19/2026)
• Patient Population: Adolescents, Adults, Geriatrics
• Unit Size: 14 beds
• Estimated Weekly Salary: $1720 - $1770

ER Registered Nurse Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of recent Emergency Room (ER) nursing experience required
• Proficiency with EPIC electronic health record (EHR) system
• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license – compact RN license or Ohio state RN license required at time of submission
• Graduate of an ACEN or CCNE accredited nursing program
• Certifications: BCLS (Basic Cardiac Life Support), ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support), NIHSS (National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale)
• Ability to float between Immediate Care Center (ICC) and Emergency Department (ED) units
• Two professional references required (at least one from a nurse manager, director, or formal leadership role)

ER Nurse Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality emergency nursing care to patients with urgent and non-urgent conditions, including hematology, oncology, and sickle cell diagnoses
• Conduct patient assessments, administer medications, and perform emergency interventions
• Document care accurately and efficiently using EPIC EHR system
• Float between ICC and ED units to meet patient care needs
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams: APPs, physicians, IV teams, physical therapy, respiratory services, radiology, and pharmacy
• Perform specialized procedures: blood product administration, central line care, EKGs, phlebotomy, and management of multisystem organ dysfunction/failure
• Maintain infection control and isolation precautions in accordance with healthcare standards
• Support patients experiencing sickle cell crisis, fever, abdominal pain, anemia, dehydration, and other acute presentations
