Job Summary

We are seeking a dynamic and entrepreneurial Executive Chef to lead all kitchen operations at the Cleveland Museum of Art. This role requires a strong culinary leader who ensures a safe, sanitary, and efficient kitchen environment while delivering high-quality meals aligned with company standards and client expectations.

Key Responsibilities

• Develops and updates menus in line with company guidelines

• Prepares or supervises meal preparation using standardized recipes, portion controls, and presentation standards

• Conducts quality checks by tasting completed meals

• Trains staff in food preparation, equipment use, and safety/sanitation practices

• Maintains cleaning and maintenance schedules for kitchen equipment and workspaces

• Manages food and supply inventory within budget while ensuring availability

• Oversees proper use of leftover food products in compliance with company policies

• Ensures adherence to federal, state, and local health regulations and sanitation standards

• Enforces safety policies, including incident reporting procedures

• Participates in staff meetings and ongoing professional development

Preferred Qualifications

• Associate degree in culinary arts or equivalent experience

• 5+ years of progressive kitchen management experience

• Strong catering background preferred

• Experience in high-volume, complex foodservice operations

• Skilled in institutional and batch cooking

• Hands-on culinary leadership experience

• In-depth knowledge of culinary trends, sanitation, cost controls, and presentation

• Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite and internet tools

• Client service-oriented and willing to support satisfaction initiatives

• ServSafe certification highly preferred
