ERP System Admin

We are partnering with a growing automotive distribution organization to hire an ERP System Administrator with Epicor Prophet 21 (P21) preferred . This role will be responsible for the configuration, administration, optimization, and support of the P21 ERP platform in a high-volume distribution environment.

The ideal candidate will act as the bridge between business operations, IT, and external vendors , ensuring the ERP system effectively supports inventory accuracy, order fulfillment, supply chain operations, and financial reporting .

This is a hybrid role based in Columbus, Ohio , requiring a minimum of three (3) days onsite per week .

Key Responsibilities

ERP System Administration

• Manage day-to-day Epicor Prophet 21 (P21) administration , including user accounts, roles, permissions, and security.

• Configure and support key modules including Inventory, Purchasing, Sales Orders, Pricing, Warehouse Management, and Financials .

• Monitor system performance and troubleshoot issues related to data flow, integrations, and user access .

• Coordinate with Epicor support and third-party vendors on upgrades, patches, and system enhancements.

• Maintain development, test, and production environments .

Distribution & Operations Support

• Optimize ERP workflows within an automotive distribution environment , including:

  • High-volume SKU management and part supersession

  • Core charges and returns processing

  • Vendor lead times and backorder management

  • Pricing matrices, rebates, and manufacturer programs

  • Multi-warehouse inventory management

• Ensure ERP workflows support fast order turnaround, accurate inventory availability, and efficient logistics operations .

Business Analysis & Process Improvement

• Partner with departments including Sales, Purchasing, Warehouse, Finance, Customer Service, and eCommerce to map business processes.

• Identify process gaps and operational inefficiencies and implement system improvements.

• Translate business requirements into ERP configuration or technical changes .

• Develop and maintain process documentation and SOPs .

Reporting & Data Management

• Develop and maintain dashboards, operational reports, and KPIs .

• Utilize SQL, SSRS, Power BI, and P21 reporting tools to deliver actionable insights.

• Ensure data accuracy and integrity across:

  • Parts and product data

  • Customer and vendor records

  • Pricing and rebate programs

  • Transactional ERP data

• Support data imports, exports, and migrations .

ERP Projects & Integrations

• Lead or support ERP enhancement projects, integrations, and module rollouts .

• Coordinate testing, training, go-live activities, and change management .

• Support integrations with systems such as:

  • Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) required skill

  • eCommerce platforms

  • CRM platforms

  • EDI systems

  • Shipping/logistics systems

User Support & Training

• Serve as the primary point of contact for P21 system support .

• Troubleshoot issues for both remote and onsite users .

• Develop and deliver ERP training sessions and user onboarding materials .

• Create training documentation and knowledge base content .

Cross-Functional Collaboration

• Work closely with business leaders and operations teams to align ERP capabilities with company goals.

• Collaborate with IT teams on infrastructure, security, and integrations .

• Facilitate communication between technical resources, users, and external vendors .

Required Qualifications

• 5+ years of ERP administration, configuration, or business analysis experience .

• Hands-on experience with Epicor Prophet 21 (P21) or similar ERP systems.

• Experience in automotive distribution, aftermarket parts, or high-volume SKU distribution environments .

• Strong knowledge of:

  • Inventory management

  • Purchasing and supply chain operations

  • Order fulfillment workflows

  • Warehouse operations

  • Pricing structures and rebate programs

• Hands-on experience with SQL and ERP reporting tools .

• Proven ability to gather requirements and improve business processes .

• Strong communication, documentation, and cross-functional collaboration skills .

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with:

  • Epicor Prophet 21 Business Rules, API, or EDI integrations

  • EDI transaction processing

  • SSRS, Power BI, or Crystal Reports

  • ERP integrations with eCommerce platforms or CRM systems

• Experience supporting:

  • Core returns

  • Part supersession

  • Manufacturer rebate programs

• Participation in ERP upgrades, migrations, or implementations .
