Purpose:
The Scheduler is responsible for scheduling of all surgeries with a high level of proficiency. This position will report directly to the Practice Manager and will receive supervision from the lead Scheduler.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Communicating with patients regarding questions for scheduling surgery and appointments, pre- and post- surgery
- Providing pertinent information to patients regarding surgery
- Documenting critical information into the EMR system
- Responding to physicians and patients in a professional and courteous manner
- Coordinating with referring physicians, physicians, and clinical staff
- Understanding and communicating insurance process and possibly educating patients with respect to finance options
- Providing back up to the front office staff as necessary, including patient check in and incoming phone calls
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent required; healthcare or medical office experience preferred
- Previous experience in dermatology, med spa, or aesthetic practice strongly preferred
- Familiarity with EMR and scheduling systems
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Excellent customer service and communication skills
