Department Summary
The Assistant Director of Alumni Success is a key contributor in the development and executive of innovative engagement strategies to foster lifelong connections between OHIO students and alumni. The Assistant Director will develop and promote programs and initiatives including the Alumni-Community Platform (Bobcat Network), mentorship programs, and career, life-long learning, and professional growth opportunities in support of the Ohio University Alumni Association’s and Ohio University’s strategic goals and objectives. This individual will develop and deliver programs and manage relationships that support the OUAA’s strategies for alumni success and continued engagement with Ohio University. The Assistant Director will represent the Association to a broad audience of alumni, donors, university partners, and administration. Primary responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Collaborate with OUAA leadership to develop OUAA programming for the alumni audience.
- Develop, administer, and promote programs within the Alumni-Community Platform (Bobcat Network).
- Develop and assess Student-Alumni Mentorship Programs.
- Consult, collaborate, and manage relationships with external and other University partners to ensure continuity between experiences, themes, and opportunities.
- Develop, deliver, and assess a variety of career services and programs that engage students, faculty, and alumni to meet dynamic and ongoing needs.
- Establish policies and procedures for internal and external engagements with OUAA.
- Maintain ongoing assessment of alumni success initiatives to ensure continuity and effectiveness.
Position Profile
Uses professional relationship building skills to identify and cultivate new individual, corporate, and institutional/foundation prospects. Engages external constituencies through programs, events, products, and services and develops customized programs to create, enhance, and sustain external relations. Cultivates relationships with alumni, donors, foundations, and corporations to support the University’s mission. Ensures the University has the resources necessary for growth and engages the community to advance its long-term goals.
Level Summary
Provides professional expertise to the University community. Serves as a resource and guide to others in the department and/or university. Completes operational tasks essential for the daily functioning of the University. Additionally, contributes to larger projects or initiatives that align with department or University goals, often collaborating across teams.
Supervisory Responsibilities
May assist in mentoring or training new employees.
Fiscal Responsibilities
No budgetary responsibility. May be responsible for validating transactions.

Handles a variety of problems with some independence.

Some supervision; able to work independently on routine tasks.

Physical Requirements
This role is primarily desk-based and involves extensive use of desktop computers. Occasionally, the job may require travel to attend meetings and programs.
Minimum Qualifications
Requires a Bachelor’s degree in a related field and 3-5 years of related professional experience, or equivalent education and experience.

Pay Rate
Target hiring range for this role is $43,888.00 to $51,377.00 and the final offer will be commensurate with the candidate’s education and experience in relation to the minimum qualifications for the position.

Work Schedule
This position works year-round and is typically expected to work 40 hours per week, Monday through Friday 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Some after hours, weekend, and holiday work may be required. Flexplace and flextime arrangements may be available for this position.
