Quality Assurance Technician
Panel Master LLC is currently in search of a Quality Assurance Technician. As a QA Technician, your role within the Quality Assurance department will be to ensure all products have not only met build specifications and industry standards but have been assembled to exceed customer expectations prior to product shipment. This requires a highly developed sense of detail in all aspects of what it takes to build an industrial control enclosure with the ability to convey this knowledge to others.

Job Responsibilities
- Perform comprehensive visual inspection of control enclosures, parts and wiring for defects and sub-par aesthetic deficiencies.
- Verify that industrial control panels are assembled to the schematic’s bill of materials and component manufacturer’s specifications.
- Ensure all electrical and mechanical connections are torqued to manufacturer specifications.
- Conduct point-to-point continuity checks to confirm wiring matches electrical schematics.
- Component identification and verification based on schematic bill of material.
- Use digital multimeters and other testing equipment to diagnose and verify functionality.
- Apply the proper means of electrical energy and/or pneumatic pressure.
- Perform functional testing:
- At minimum, energize each component for proper functionality and operate as specified.
- Load programs into PLCs, VFDs, HMIs and other controllers and verify functionality per customer specifications.
- Document and properly convey any corrections, quality issues and discrepancies to the appropriate personnel.
- Properly fill out and finalize paperwork prior to release for shipment.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Education and Experience
- High School or GED required, plus a minimum 3-4 years of electrical control panel assembly.
- With a two-year field comparable technical degree or associated degree in the electrical field, plus a minimum of 2 years in electrical control panel assembly.
- With a four-year college degree, plus a minimum of 1 year in electrical control panel assembly.
- Additional supplementary technical knowledge and education
- Qualified UL 508A Manufacturer Technical Representative.
- Experience with UL508A and CSA assembly standards.
- Completed programs in any certified Quality Assurance programs (ASQ, ISO, etc.).
- Experience with NEC (National Electrical Code) standards for industrial control panels.
- Programming experience.
Required technical skills:
- Must be proficient in reading and interpreting multiple styles of electrical and electro-mechanical wiring schematics, diagrams and blueprints.
- Able to communicate discrepancies, advice, and other technical issues, professionally, through both written (i.e., email) and verbal means.
- Computer literate Familiarity with Word, Excel, Outlook, Internet.
- Strong work ethic, great attitude, and willing to learn.
- Ability to stay on task and be mindful of deliverable dates.
- Analytical problem solving skills.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Good organizational skills a necessary.
- Comfortable and safe working with electricity and energized electric components.
Physical Requirements of the position
- Must be able to life 25-50 pounds.
- Extended periods of standing.
- Extended periods of sitting.
