Tempering Production Manager

AGC Flat Glass North America, Inc. d/b/a AGC Automotive Americas Co. in Bellefontaine, OH seeks a full-time Tempering Production Manager

Job Duties:

• Plans, schedules, coordinates, and leads departmental activities to fulfill safety standards, quality standards and delivery standards for automotive glass products to meet customer requirements. Must achieve process KPI's and financial budget along with internal and external customer satisfaction (CS) and employee satisfaction (ES).
• Develops strategic departmental long and short range plans to support the company vision and mission
• Prepares, manages, and achieves departmental financial and process KPI's budget
• Develops Shift Coordinators, Production Specialists, and Process Engineers through coaching, feedback and continued training activities
• Manages production-related communication flow and coordination between departmental resources and vendor resources
• Leads and/or participates in problem solving activities regarding safety, quality, cost and process concerns
• Ensures quality of product to customer specifications are met consistently
• Ensures safe workplace for all associates and visitors by establishing and maintaining 5S and environmental objectives of department
• Advises and expedites the resolution and implementation of corrective actions to facilitate continuous improvement in the areas of customer satisfaction, cost, work simplification, safety, employee satisfaction, budgetary conformance or other goals and objectives
• Coordinates and expedites responsibilities in areas of manufacturing, engineering scheduling, procurement, tooling, staffing, training, and employee relations to support production and profitability goals
• Recommends and implements the resolution of corrective actions to facilitate continuous improvement in customer satisfaction, cost, work simplification, safety, employee satisfaction, budgetary conformance and other goals/objectives
• Demonstrates AGC Way in all aspect of responsibilities
• Other duties or projects as assigned

Must have U.S. Bachelor's degree (or foreign equivalent) in Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a closely related Engineering field. In the alternative, employer will accept a combination of three (3) years of undergraduate study in an engineering field plus three (3) years of progressive engineering or related experience as equivalent to a U.S. Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a closely related Engineering field, as determined by a professional credentials evaluation service.

Must also have five (5) years of experience as a Plant or Production Manager in a manufacturing environment.

Three (3) of the five (5) years of experience as a Plant or Production Manager in a manufacturing environment must include experience establishing plant KPI's including Safety, Environmental, Quality, Cost, Delivery, Development and Management and linking specific business plans to KPI improvements yearly. Safety and Environment activity promotion, leading continuous improvement activities using Kaizen methodology and the KTA PDCA format, Customer Relations & 8D/5P leadership, 5S system promotion including, managing plant P&L and expense budgets, New Model & New Equipment management, plant layout changes and optimization of product/process flow.

Less than 20% domestic [or]{.underline} international is required.

Involves the supervision of 4 Production Supervisors, 1 Senior Production Specialist, 7 Production Specialists, and 1 Coordinator.
