Clubhouse Manager

Job Description

The Clubhouse Manager will oversee daily and strategic house, social, pool and member operations of Elyria Country Club (ECC). This role involves managing dining, house, and front office staff, clubhouse facilities and clubhouse events delivering exceptional experiences for the membership. The ideal candidate will possess prior experience in a clubhouse leadership role at a private country club and exemplify strong leadership, organizational and communication skills. The Clubhouse Manager will work collaboratively with the golf and grounds management, reporting to the Board of Directors.

Key Responsibilities:

Operational Management:

· Oversee daily operations of the clubhouse, including food and beverage services, pool and club facilities.

· Manage club IT infrastructure, vendors, and security needs.

· Develop and implement operational policies to enhance efficiency, reduce waste, and standardize operational procedures.

· Monitor and manage key metrics to meet financial targets through budget management.

Staff Management:

· Recruit, train and supervise all clubhouse staff and management, including service and administrative staff.

· Develop and implement formal hiring, onboarding and training procedures for all clubhouse-related areas.

· Conduct performance evaluations and provide ongoing feedback to staff and Clubhouse Chairperson.

· Work collaboratively with golf and grounds management; this role does not include management of the golf course, grounds, or golf events.

· Foster a positive environment of collaboration through promotion of teamwork and professional development.

Member Relations:

· Build and maintain strong relationships with the club members, addressing their needs and concerns in a timely and professional manner.

· Implement processes, through collaboration with the membership/events manager, to retain and attract new members.

· Focus on increasing membership satisfaction and social interaction at the club.

Facility Management:

· Ensure club facilities are well-maintained, clean and in good repair.

· Oversee maintenance schedules for all clubhouse facilities, including pool and physical golf buildings.

· Coordinate with vendors and contractors through quote management, meeting of project timelines and acting within authorized authority to execute non-capex facilities management.

Event Planning:

· Coordinate with membership/events manager to execute club and private sponsored functions, including house components of golf/outing events.

· Work with house committee members to coordinate and plan social events throughout the season.

Marketing and Promotion:

· Coordinate with membership/events manager to promote the club and attract new members and manage clubs social/online media presence.

· Act as ex officio member of all clubhouse related committees.

Qualifications

Education and Experience:

· Minimum of 3 years of experience in management role, preferably in a country club or similar setting.

· Experience with Jonas POS or other similar club system software.

· Experience with budget management, payroll management, and staff supervision.

Skills:

· Strong leadership and organizational skills.

· Excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills.

· Excellent problem-solving skills with a focus on membership satisfaction.

Working Conditions:

· This role requires flexible working hours, including evenings, weekends and holidays.

· Physical demands include the ability to stand for long periods, lift moderate weight (25lbs) and navigate all indoor and outdoor areas of the club and its grounds.

Pay: From $80,000,commensurate with experience
