Job Brief
MBS Pro Staffing, a division of Kable Workforce Solutions, is hiring a Field Service Technician for our client. This job involves supervising the installation and startup of machines at customer sites, performing troubleshooting, fabrication, and maintenance work. You’ll travel frequently to customer locations to ensure proper setup, perform repairs, train operators, and maintain equipment in optimal condition.

What’s a Typical Day Like?

• Follow the agreed practices as defined in the quality management system.
• Work within the scope of your responsibilities.
• Check your work to verify its accuracy in meeting the objectives.
• Know how you contribute to the achievement of the objectives.
• Supervise installation and startup of machines at the customers’ plant and maintain all working components as determined by customers’ needs.
• Travel to customers’ location(s) to supervise installation of our machines at the customer’s plant and perform startup of new machine.
• Perform field trouble shooting on both warranty and repair orders.
• Review jobs in the shop as production is in progress for possible field service problems.
• Perform shop fabrication procedures including welding, layout and sheet metal fabrication on customers’ machines at their sites.
• Perform electrical fault/functions on customer’s machinery.
• Estimate materials that will be needed to trouble shoot customers machines.
• Training of other employees and/or customers on machines.
• Prepare service reports on jobs in the fields.
• Assist Field Service Supervisor when required.
• Assist work with manufacturing department on an as needed basis.
• Other functions as directed.
• Supervisory Responsibilities: May assist in training of temporary /new employees.
• Travel: 65-75% travel.

What Are the Requirements of the Job?

• Education and/or Experience: High School Diploma, and/or equivalent.
• Minimum of 5-7 years of practical factory experience including welding.
• Be able to add, subtract, multiply and divide basic numbers.
• Be able to identify work process problems and possible solutions.
• Stand for prolonged periods of time on concrete floor.
• Will be required to kneel, squat, stoop, recline, climb, crawl, and/or bend on an as needed basis.
• Must be able to adjust visual focus.
• Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. unassisted, over 50 lbs with assistance of a lifting device.
