The Mill Department Lead Machinist will:

Ø Ensure that projects are completed correctly and efficiently by qualified personnel and machine operators maintain a consistently high level of quality, customer satisfaction, productivity, and efficiencyØ Serve as a liaison between Machining Manager and Milling Machinists

Ø Set up and prove out new jobs before handing off to Milling Machinists

Ø Manage shop employees to complete projects in the most efficient and cost-effective manner

Job Requirements:

Ø Dependable individual with reliable transportation

Ø Excellent attendance record

Ø Must have strong verbal and written communication skills

Ø Must be able to effectively lead people in a team environment in a respectful and professional manner

Ø Excellent time management, computer & organizational skills

Ø Ensure spindles are turning and chips are being made the most hours possible in a shift

Ø Monitor operator's productivity & efficiency, maximizing hours worked vs. hours billed

Ø Operate machines when needed

Ø Proficient with Fusion 360 or prior CAD/CAM software experience

Ø Must assist with “in process” level inspection of parts

Ø Assist with complex machine setups. Provide guidance and help when operators need it

Ø Monitor shop conditions, including cleanliness, safety, and the condition of shop equipment

Ø Oversee machine preventative maintenance and ensure required documentation is being completed and is current

Ø Provide input for performance reviews for milling department personnel

Ø Knowledge of Mainstream QMS and how you contribute to it

Ø FOD Awareness Prevention

Ø Counterfeit Parts Awareness

Ø Other duties as assigned by management

ENTRY QUALIFICATIONS:

Ø High school diploma or GED.

Ø At least five consecutive years of related work experience.

Ø Proficient in reading and interpreting blueprints and technical drawings.

Ø Proficient in CNC programing. Conversational and G and M code.

Ø Proficient Auto-cad, Fusion 360, Solid-works or similar CAD/CAM software.

Ø Ability to use inspection equipment proficiently.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Ø 10+ years prior experience as a CNC machinist or in the same or a related field.

Ø Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel.

Ø Proficient Auto-cad, Fusion 360, Solid-works or similar CAD/CAM software.

Ø Knowledge of materials and processes. (Metals, plastics, heat treating, coatings…)

Ø Prior experience with Hurco brand vertical mills (3 and 5 axis)
