TravelNurseSource is working with Cynet Health to find a qualified Oncology RN in Columbus, Ohio, 43210!
Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Medical Surgical Oncology Duration: 16 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum of 1 year of Medical-Surgical and Oncology experience required. Hematology Oncology experience is strongly preferred. License: Must have a valid nursing license in hand at the time of submission. Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS) required. Preferred certifications include Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) and Oncology Nursing Society (ONS) Chemotherapy Certification. Must-Have: Experience with computerized charting systems, specifically Epic. Experience in telemetry monitoring and interpretation of dysrhythmias. Ability to perform blood product administration and central line management. Description: This position focuses on providing care to patients with hematological malignancies. Patients may present with diagnoses such as Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia, Acute Myeloid Leukemia, and Various Lymphomas. The unit performs various types of stem cell transplants, including autologous, syngeneic, and allogeneic transplants. There is a strong emphasis on infection prevention protocols and management of patient falls. Daily tasks include utilizing Rapid Response Teams, managing feeding tubes, and administering nasal cannula. Candidates should have a strong understanding of leukemias and blood dyscrasias. The ability to recognize and communicate abnormal lab values is crucial in this role. Opportunities for interdisciplinary support are available, including assistance from physical therapy, pharmacy, and social services. Candidates should be prepared to handle a mixed acuity patient population and be adaptable to the needs of the unit. About Cynet Health
