We are seeking a dedicated CANS Assessor to conduct comprehensive assessments for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities. The ideal candidate will have experience in behavioral health assessments and a passion for supporting vulnerable populations through accurate evaluation and care planning.

Job Title: CANS Assessor – IDD Services
Location: Mid-Hudson Valley, NY
Pay Range: $26–$30/hour (DOE)
Hybrid Flexibility: Combine remote documentation with in-person visits
Flexible Scheduling: Choose a schedule that fits your lifestyle, including evenings and weekends

What You'll Do:

• Conduct in-person CANS assessments in homes and community settings.
• T ravel throughout the NYC region to meet with youth, families, and caregivers.
• Use a person-centered approach to evaluate strengths, needs, and developmental concerns.
• Gather information from caregivers, service providers, and relevant records to complete the assessment.
• Accurately document findings in state-mandated systems while meeting compliance standards.
• Coordinate language access services as needed.
• Maintain productivity and quality standards defined by the program.

What We're Looking For:
✅ Bachelor’s degree in a human services field (required)
✅ Minimum 1 year working directly with children and/or adolescents with IDD (required)
✅ Experience with assessments or the CANS tool (preferred)
✅ Strong communication, Microsoft Word/email/web-based platform skills; bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred

• Valid NYS Driver’s License or NYS ID card.
• Willingness to travel for in-person visits.
