Founded in 1912, The Cleveland Music School Settlement (dba The Music Settlement (TMS)) was built on the ideals of inclusiveness and opportunity for all using music as the common language. Salary: $46,000-$48,000, commensurate with relevant skills and experience

PRIMARY PURPOSE:The Marketing Coordinator is the partner to the Director of Advancement & Communications, responsible for the day-to-day production, publishing, and performance tracking of TMS’s marketing communications across all channels. The Marketing Coordinator brings that strategy to life, capturing the moments, building the assets, scheduling the posts, sending the emails, and running the ads that move audiences through the cultivation funnel. This role is hands-on, deadline-driven, and embedded in the daily life of TMS’s Centers and Bop Stop venue.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Coordinate and execute photo and video content sessions across TMS programs and venues, including lessons, classrooms, ensembles, camps, recitals, Bop Stop performances, and special events, and edit content for use across social, email, web, and print.

Design social graphics, email visuals, flyers, brochures, posters, event signage, digital ads, and supporting collateral for Center programs, Bop Stop events, fundraising appeals, and capital campaign activities using Canva and Adobe Creative Cloud.

Create, schedule, and publish content across TMS's social media accounts (Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, X/Twitter, YouTube, and emerging platforms) against the cultivation content calendar maintained by the Director.

Monitor social media performance, respond to comments and messages within established guidelines, and flag noteworthy interactions.

Build, test, and send TMS email communications, newsletters, program announcements, donor appeals, event invitations, and stewardship messages, and maintain segmented lists in coordination.

Build, launch, and optimize paid digital campaigns across Meta Ads and Google Ads, managing audience targeting, creative, budget pacing, A/B testing, and reporting.

Track performance across social, email, paid media, and web; compile regular reports with insights and recommendations for the Director and Advancement team.

Perform routine website updates (event listings, program pages, news posts, photo refreshes) and review/edit copy across channels to maintain a consistent voice that advances cultivation.

Apply TMS's visual brand identity consistently across all print and digital materials, and steward digital assets, templates, logos, and collateral in an organized library.

Ensure all communications adhere to brand standards, accessibility best practices, and compliance requirements (e.g., CAN-SPAM, list hygiene) and enable segmented, data-informed marketing.

Collaborate with Center staff and the Bop Stop team to gather content, surface story opportunities, and understand upcoming marketing needs.

Physical requirements include the ability to sit, stand, bend, crouch, and transport to move oneself around the various TMS and other job locations and from one to another, including driving oneself and transporting AV equipment, laptop, cameras, and materials such as boxes of brochures or other printed or recording supplies. Lifting, pulling and pushing up to 25 pounds consistently. Vision to include near and far visual acuity, including for the use of creating work product materials using computers, cameras, video and sound recording equipment, in various settings with various human subjects including individuals and ensembles. The ability to see to collect, design and capture photography, video and audio content, including video recording, editing, creating, planning content, creating brand aligned design materials, and other deliverable content described herein. The ability to hear and speak, including in person and other remote speech, to communicate with outside and internal customers to impart oral information to the public and coworkers when communicating in creating and capturing content, as well as planning and designing to execute job duties.

Support the Director in additional marketing, communications, and donor cultivation projects as assigned.

EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS: A Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution in marketing, communications, digital media, graphic design, or a related field is preferred. Equivalent professional experience will be considered. Two (2) to three (3) years of hands-on experience in social media management, content creation, email marketing, or paid digital advertising is preferred; relevant internship or freelance experience qualifies.

REPORTS TO:Director of Advancement & Marketing Communications

QUALIFICATIONS:

Strong photography and videography skills, with the ability to capture high-quality content in real-world program settings (classrooms, lessons, performances, events). Comfort with the technical operation of cameras, microphones, and lighting equipment.

Proficiency editing photos and videos using tools such as Adobe Photoshop, Lightroom, Premiere Pro, CapCut, or comparable software.

Demonstrated experience managing organizational social media accounts (not just personal), including scheduling tools (e.g., Meta Business Suite, Hootsuite, Sprout Social, or comparable).

Working knowledge of Meta Ads Manager and Google Ads, with the ability to build, launch, and optimize campaigns under the strategic direction of the Director.

Experience with email marketing platforms (e.g., Mailchimp, Constant Contact, Emma, or comparable), including list segmentation, template building, and performance reporting.

Strong design skills using Canva and Adobe Creative Cloud (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign).

Familiarity with website content management systems (e.g., WordPress, Squarespace, or comparable) and basic understanding of SEO principles.

Solid writing and editing skills, with strong attention to grammar, voice, and brand consistency.

Comfort with analytics tools, including native platform analytics, Google Analytics, and ad platform reporting.

Familiarity with, or willingness to learn, CRM and registration systems (e.g., Raiser’s Edge, Active Network) and their integration with marketing tools.

Highly organized with strong follow-through, able to manage multiple deliverables and deadlines across Centers and the Bop Stop venue.

Detail-oriented, dependable, and resourceful, with sound judgment and a commitment to professionalism, discretion, and excellent customer service.

Ability to work evenings and weekends to capture content at performances, recitals, Bop Stop shows, fundraising events, and community engagement activities.

This position requires primarily on-site, moving between TMS’s University Circle and Ohio City campuses.

Experience with and understanding of how marketing communications drives the success of fundraising efforts for nonprofit organizations and supports advancement, as well as building community outreach and engagement.

Must possess a valid driver’s license and means of personal transportation and the ability to travel to meetings, events, and production locations as needed.
