Overview:

Provides chauffeur service for including transportation of patients to and from Oncology Outpatient Services locations in Beebe Healthcare vehicle.

Responsibilities:

Transport patients to and from medical center within Sussex County, Delaware. Operates medical center owned vehicle in a safe and appropriate manner. Maintains cleanliness of vehicle and notifies appropriate individual regarding vehicle need for maintenance. Prepares and maintains adequate transportation logs, vehicle fuel consumption log, and other data as requested. Maintains established medical center policies, procedures, objectives, quality assurance, safety, environmental and infection control. Assists patients from home into vehicle and from vehicle into medical center. Maintains a positive demeanor at all times. Assists medical center in the transporting of other medical center items as directed.

Qualifications:

Ability to lift 50 pounds. Ability to drive a vehicle. Must be able to read and write and understand written and oral instructions. Must have excellent communication skills. Must be physically able to assist others up steps and into wheelchair lifts.

Credentials:

• Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record
• Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) may be required depending on vehicle type
• CPR and First Aid certification preferred (or required within a specified timeframe)

Education:

• High school diploma or equivalent (required)
• Previous driving experience (professional transport experience preferred)
• Experience working with elderly or medically vulnerable populations preferred

Entry: USD $16.50/Hr. Max: USD $25.58/Hr.
