Registered Nurse Job Details
- Assignment Type: Locum tenens (Travel RN Contract)
- Location: Columbus, Ohio 43205 (Central Ohio healthcare jobs)
- Unit: Cardiothoracic Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (CVPICU)
- Shift: 12-hour night shifts (7:00 PM – 7:30 AM), 3 shifts/week
- Weekly Hours: 36
- Contract Length: 13 weeks (Start: 09/22/2025 – End: 12/22/2025)
- Patient Ratios: 2:1
- Patient Population: Neonates, Infants, Pediatrics, Adolescents, Adults
- Unit Size: 20 beds, average daily census 13
- Weekend Coverage: Required
- Orientation: 36 hours
- Estimated Weekly Salary Range: $2470 - $2540
- Minimum 2 years of recent PICU or CVPICU nursing experience (30+ bed PICU preferred)
- Active Ohio or Compact Registered Nurse license (must be current at time of application)
- Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS
- Proficiency with arterial line management, ventilator management, central line care, chest tube maintenance, BiPAP/CPAP, ECMO exposure, VADs, CRRT, high flow nasal cannula, pediatric dosage calculations, and related clinical skills
- Ability to float to NICU, PICU, Emergency Department, stepdown, and med-surg units as needed
- Two supervisory references required (one from a supervisor or nurse manager)
- Cannot have been a permanent employee at this facility within the past 2 years
- No local candidates (must reside more than 60 miles from Columbus, OH)
- Deliver high-quality, compassionate nursing care to critically ill pediatric patients with complex cardiac and medical needs
- Monitor and manage ventilators, arterial lines, central lines, and advanced medical equipment
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams including respiratory therapy, pharmacy, and social services
- Float to other critical care and acute care units as required, adapting to diverse patient populations
- Maintain accurate documentation and ensure compliance with hospital protocols and patient safety standards
- Participate in patient and family education and provide emotional support
