Basic Job Functions: The role of a Nucor Marion Electrician is to work with the maintenance and operations teams to achieve the safest, most efficient and most cost effective means of operation. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: maintaining, troubleshooting, repairing, and upgrading all types of production equipment, which includes motors, drives, cranes, controls and instruments, working on process improvement projects, and providing electrical support to operations. The qualified candidate must be willing and able to work rotating shifts, holidays, and weekends as required. Safety is the most important part of all jobs within Nucor; therefore, candidates must be able to demonstrate the ability to initiate, lead, and uphold safety policies, practices, procedures, and housekeeping standards at all times. Minimum Qualifications: • Fundamental understanding of electrical theory
• Experience troubleshooting low voltage (< 600VAC) motors and controllers.
• Experience troubleshooting PLCs, instrumentation, process control devices, and VFDs.
• 3+ years' experience in industrial or military electrical maintenance. Preferred Qualifications: • 2-year or 4-year degree in electrical or related field.
• Experience maintaining overhead cranes.
• Exposure to electrical substation equipment and maintenance practices.
• Prior Steel industry experience in electrical maintenance
