The Durable Slate Company is an award-winning historic roofing contractor established in 1986. We specialize in premium historic roofing services, including slate, copper, and clay-tile roofing, and are known for our commitment to quality, integrity, and preservation excellence.

We are seeking a motivated individual with roofing experience who is ready to grow into a management role. This position is ideal for someone with hands-on roofing knowledge and some crew leadership or coordination experience who wants to build a long-term career in production management.

• Assist in planning and coordinating commercial and residential roofing projects
• Material fabrication and inventory controls
• Support Production Manager in scheduling crews and materials
• Help lead and communicate with field crews to ensure quality and safety
• Learn to manage job progress, timelines, and customer expectations
• Maintain high standards of craftsmanship and job site professionalism

• Roofing experience required (shingles, slate, or tile)
• Some leadership, foreman, or assistant-level management experience preferred
• Strong work ethic and willingness to learn
• Basic computer skills (Microsoft Office or similar)
• Good communication skills with both team members and customers
• Ability to work at heights and lift up to 50 lbs
• Valid driver’s license and ability to pass pre-employment screening
• Able to work both in the office and comfortable on ladders/lifts/scaffolding and roofs

• Both administrative and technical hands-on training
