A leading professional services firm in Bermuda is seeking an experienced U.S. Tax Director to join its growing tax practice. This leadership role focuses on delivering strategic tax planning, compliance, and advisory services to sophisticated clients within the investment funds sector, while shaping the direction of the practice and developing future leaders.


You will play a critical part in guiding clients through complex U.S. tax regulations, ensuring compliance, minimising risk, and supporting long-term planning. This individual will set the tone for the team, contribute to the strategic vision of the practice, and uphold the highest standards of quality, integrity, and inclusion. Their leadership will foster a healthy, collaborative working environment while driving growth and strengthening client relationships.

• Develop and maintain strong client relationships, identifying opportunities to expand services
• Oversee engagement workflows, resource planning, billing, and financial management
• Mentor, coach, and inspire team members while promoting an inclusive, high-performance culture
• Uphold professional standards, quality expectations, and a strong commercial mindset

Required Skills & Expertise

• Extensive knowledge of compliance and consulting for investment partnerships, including hedge funds, mutual funds, and private equity funds
• Strong understanding of fund structures and fund management company arrangements to minimise tax liability
• Deep technical expertise with partnership tax matters, including experience with Forms and Schedules such as K-1 and K-3 for U.S. and non-U.S. funds
• Considerable knowledge of alternative investment strategies and vehicles
• Proven ability to identify and address client needs, build enduring relationships, and present complex material clearly
• Demonstrated success leading teams, fostering trust, leveraging diverse perspectives, and inspiring innovation
• Experience evaluating and negotiating contracts and contributing to pricing strategies
• Competence in automation and digitisation, including working with large datasets, data visualisation tools, and technology-enhanced processes
• Strong communication, negotiation, and problem-solving abilities

Minimum Experience & Qualifications

• At least 10 years of recent and relevant U.S. tax experience within a professional services environment
• CPA or Member of the Bar qualification required
