Test Engineer I - Transmission ECU Controls

Summary:

This role will support engineering test and development activities.

Responsibilities:

• Lead and support the engineering test activities by applying engineering principles, experiences, and various analysis tools in following established test plans/procedures to test parts/components in area of specialty to determine design feasibility and ensure parts/components meet design acceptance criteria, performance level targets and any applicable regulatory/internal standards.


• Depending on functional area, must perform objective and subjective testing by driving.


• Utilize data acquisition tools to collect data, analyze and report results.


• Conduct vehicle benchmarking for the purpose of target setting.


• Support vehicle tuning and instrument vehicles for objective tests.


• Search new ways to increase overall efficiency, utilize up-to-date technology.


• Coordinate with design and CAE teams to report results and develop countermeasures.


• Travel to client/ test sites required.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering and 2+ years of ECU testing/validation experience for Automotive systems such as Transmission, Engine, Battery Management Systems, Fuel Injection, etc


• Education with the following specialties preferred: Mechanical, Electrical, Mechanical Technology, Aerospace, Automotive, Manufacturing.


• Experience using INCA, CANalyzer, CANoe tools


• Experience with programming using C, C# C++, Python


• Experience with micro-controller I/O programming and control logic


• Hands on experience with wrenching and vehicle instrumentation and performing vehicle level testing required.


• Good understanding of requirements management, function validation, diagnostics, troubleshooting and CAN structures


• Strong knowledge of electrical hardware and software development required.


• Strong written and verbal communication skills.


• Proficiency in MS office.


• Formula SAE (FSAE), BAJA SAE, EcoCar, Mini BAJA SAE, experience preferred


• Test track / driving experience preferred.
