About the Role:
The Concrete Foreman 1 plays a critical leadership role in overseeing and coordinating concrete construction projects to ensure timely and quality completion. This position is responsible for managing on-site crews, scheduling tasks, and maintaining safety standards while working closely with project managers and subcontractors. The foreman ensures that all concrete work complies with engineering specifications, building codes, and company policies. They are instrumental in troubleshooting issues on-site, optimizing resource allocation, and maintaining clear communication among team members. Ultimately, the Concrete Foreman 1 ensures that projects are executed efficiently, safely, and to the highest standards of craftsmanship.
Minimum Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in concrete construction with at least 1 year in a supervisory or foreman role.
- Strong knowledge of concrete placement, finishing techniques, and curing processes.
- Familiarity with construction safety standards and OSHA regulations.
- Ability to read and interpret construction plans, blueprints, and specifications.
- Valid Ohio Driver's License and the ability to be covered under the company's insurance.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Certification in concrete finishing or construction supervision.
- Experience with heavy equipment operation related to concrete work.
- First Aid and CPR certification.
- Proven leadership skills with experience managing diverse construction teams.
- Knowledge of local building codes and environmental regulations.
Responsibilities:
- Supervise and direct concrete crews during all phases of construction, including formwork, pouring, finishing, and curing.
- Coordinate daily work schedules and assign tasks to ensure project milestones are met on time.
- Monitor compliance with safety regulations and enforce company safety policies to maintain a safe work environment.
- Inspect materials, equipment, and workmanship to ensure adherence to project specifications and quality standards.
- Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and subcontractors to resolve on-site issues and optimize workflow.
- Maintain accurate records of labor, materials, and equipment usage for reporting and project tracking.
- Train and mentor crew members to improve skills, productivity, and adherence to safety protocols.
Skills:
The Concrete Foreman 1 utilizes technical skills daily to interpret blueprints and ensure concrete work meets design specifications. Leadership and communication skills are essential for effectively managing crews, coordinating with multiple stakeholders, and maintaining a productive work environment. Problem-solving skills are frequently applied to address unexpected challenges such as weather delays or material shortages. Safety awareness is critical to enforce compliance and prevent accidents on site. Additionally, organizational skills are used to track project progress, manage resources efficiently, and document work activities accurately.
