Shift Details:
We are currently searching for a Medication Assistant to join the following shift: various shifts. Please note, this may change throughout employment as needed with notice.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Providing residents with medication administration, treatment assistance and services according to the health care provider's orders.
- Adhering to the narcotic and PRN policies of Aviva Senior Living.
- Reporting any changes in residents' physical condition and/or behaviors.
- Maintaining resident records regarding medication distribution, leisure activities, incidents, and observations.
- Following the schedule of the resident's needs set out by the supervisor.
- Providing emotional and social support to residents.
- Adhering to all policies and procedures of the community.
- Fulfilling other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
- Regular and predictable attendance daily.
Qualifications, skills, and abilities:
- High school diploma or equivalent (GED)
- Certified in the applicable state to pass medications in the work setting.
- One to two years of related work experience preferred
- Skilled in caring for residents with memory impairments and secondary diagnosis.
- Ability to work with the elderly in a courteous and friendly manner, demonstrating patience and compassion.
- Ability to safely handle food in accordance with facility policies and procedures, as well as all state and federal regulations
- Strong knowledge and understanding of state regulations
- Ability to read and write in English
