Shipping Lead

Job title: Shipping Lead
Location: Oberlin, OH
Shift 1 st (Monday through Friday 8 am to 5 pm)
Salary: $18 to $25 an hour based on experience

Job description

• Lead, train, and assist in managing shipping team members.
• Assign tasks and monitor performance to meet department goals.
• Oversee packing, labeling, and documentation of shipments.
• Coordinate with carriers and logistics partners to schedule pickups and deliveries.
• Ensure timely and accurate shipping of all orders and resolve discrepancies related to shipping and inventory.
• Maintain accurate shipping records and logs.
• Collaborate with warehouse and inventory teams to ensure stock accuracy.
• Enforce compliance with company policies, safety standards, and regulatory requirements (e.g., DOT, OSHA) and assist in developing standard operating procedures (SOPs).
• Conduct regular safety checks and training sessions and assist in developing standard operating procedures (SOPs).
• Identify bottlenecks and inefficiencies; recommend and implement improvements.

Qualifications

• 3 years of experience in shipping, logistics, or warehouse operations.
• Previous supervisory or team leader experience preferred.
• Strong knowledge of shipping software and logistics systems.
• Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

• Ability to lift and move packages up to 50 lbs.
• Ability to operate forklifts and other warehouse machinery (certification may be required).
• High school diploma or equivalent
• Ability to pass a preemployment screening
