Controls Engineering Supervisor Company: HireNow Staffing (Direct Placement Partner) HireNow Snapshot HireNow Staffing is actively recruiting a seasoned, highly skilled Controls Engineering Supervisor to join one of our valued client partners in Lancaster, Ohio . This is a full-time onsite leadership opportunity for an experienced automation professional who excels at leading engineering teams, delivering industrial automation projects, and driving continuous operational improvements within a manufacturing environment. The selected candidate will oversee the design, implementation, maintenance, and optimization of control systems while mentoring engineers, managing technical projects, and ensuring manufacturing equipment operates safely, efficiently, and reliably. Key Responsibilities
- Lead, mentor, and develop a team of Controls Engineers
- Manage controls engineering projects from concept through implementation and startup
- Oversee project schedules, budgets, staffing, and engineering resources
- Direct the design, installation, programming, testing, and commissioning of industrial automation systems
- Integrate and optimize PLCs, HMIs, SCADA platforms, and related automation technologies
- Troubleshoot complex electrical controls and automation issues while minimizing production downtime
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives that enhance productivity, quality, and equipment reliability
- Collaborate with production, maintenance, quality, engineering, and safety teams to support operational excellence
- Ensure compliance with OSHA regulations, engineering standards, and company safety policies
- Maintain engineering documentation, system standards, and technical best practices
- Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, Controls Engineering, or a related engineering discipline
- Minimum 5 years of controls engineering experience within manufacturing or industrial automation
- Minimum 2 years of engineering leadership or supervisory experience
- Strong PLC programming experience with Allen-Bradley and Siemens platforms
- Experience supporting SCADA and HMI systems
- Advanced troubleshooting skills involving industrial automation and electrical controls
- Strong project management and organizational skills
- Excellent communication and leadership abilities
- Ability to work onsite in Lancaster, Ohio

- Must be authorized to work in the United States
- Professional Engineering (P.E.) license or advanced automation certifications
- Experience leading capital automation projects
- Knowledge of robotics, industrial networking, motion control, and VFDs
- Experience implementing Lean Manufacturing and continuous improvement initiatives
- Experience developing engineering standards and mentoring junior engineers
- Strong knowledge of industrial safety regulations and electrical standards
- Experience supporting high-volume manufacturing environments
- Compensation: $130,000–$140,000 annually

- Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, Controls Engineering, or related discipline
- Five or more years of industrial controls engineering experience
- Minimum two years of engineering leadership experience
- Strong PLC programming expertise using Allen-Bradley and Siemens platforms
- Experience with SCADA and HMI systems
- Proven ability to lead engineering projects and technical teams
- Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication and project management abilities
- Commitment to workplace safety and operational excellence
- Meets all required qualifications while demonstrating several preferred qualifications
- Extensive manufacturing automation leadership experience
- Success leading multidisciplinary engineering teams
- Experience modernizing automation systems and improving manufacturing efficiency
- Strong knowledge of industrial networking, robotics, and advanced control systems
- Experience delivering capital equipment and automation implementation projects
- Excellent collaboration with operations, maintenance, quality, and executive leadership
- Stable employment history demonstrating leadership, technical expertise, and long-term career progression
- Frequent unexplained job changes or unstable employment history ( jumpy resumes will not be accepted or interviewed )
- Less than five years of controls engineering experience
- Less than two years of engineering leadership or supervisory experience
- No experience programming Allen-Bradley or Siemens PLC systems
- Limited experience with SCADA and HMI systems
- Inability to work onsite in Lancaster, Ohio
