Job Title: SOX Compliance Specialist
Location-Type: 100% Remote (EST preferred; occasional onsite in Wilmington, maybe 1x/per month at most)
Start Date Is: Immediate (early May target)
Duration: 9-month contract (potential to extend or convert)
Compensation Range: $60-70/hr on W2 ONLY!

Job Description:
This role supports IT SOX compliance by ensuring effective design, implementation, and maintenance of IT General Controls (ITGCs) aligned with regulatory requirements.

Day-to-Day Responsibilities:

• Support enterprise SOX IT compliance initiatives across IT and finance
• Oversee ITGC domains (access, change management, operations, SDLC)
• Partner with internal/external auditors and stakeholders globally
• Evaluate control design and effectiveness; identify gaps and improvements
• Support system implementations and ensure SOX alignment in projects
• Maintain documentation (RACMs, narratives, process flows)
• Coordinate audit testing, walkthroughs, and evidence collection
• Track remediation efforts and validate control improvements
• Administer AuditBoard (Optro) and support reporting/dashboarding
• Deliver SOX training and guidance to cross-functional teams

Requirements:

• Must-Haves:
  • 7–10 years of IT audit, risk, or compliance experience
  • Strong SOX compliance and ITGC expertise
  • Experience with internal and/or external audits (Big 4 or similar preferred)
  • Understanding of financial reporting risk and control frameworks
  • Experience across IT processes (access, change, operations, SDLC)
  • Strong communication skills with global stakeholders
  • Background working at audit firms (e.g., Client, KPMG, Ernst & Young (EY), PwC, Client, etc)
• Nice-to-Haves:
  • Certifications (CISA, CIA, CPA, or equivalent)
  • Experience with AuditBoard (Optro)
  • Experience supporting cloud or system transformation initiatives
