In-Vehicle Transportation Aide
MedaCare Transportation Inc. is seeking a reliable and compassionate In-Vehicle Transportation Aide to assist drivers with safely transporting passengers to and from schools, medical appointments, and other designated locations.
- Monitor passengers throughout the trip to ensure safe and appropriate behavior.
- Assist the driver in maintaining a safe and calm transportation environment.
- Ensure passengers remain seated with seatbelts secured while the vehicle is in motion.
- Observe and report safety concerns immediately to the driver or dispatch.
Behavioral Support:
- Use verbal intervention and de-escalation techniques to calmly address behavioral situations.
- Help maintain a structured and respectful environment during transport.
- Provide reassurance and support to passengers who may be anxious, upset, or experiencing emotional distress.
- Follow MedaCare protocols for behavioral and safety incidents.
Communication:
- Communicate effectively with drivers, dispatch staff, school personnel, caregivers, and program staff.
- Report incidents, behavioral concerns, or safety issues according to company procedures.
- Maintain professionalism and respectful communication at all times.
Documentation:
- Complete required incident or observation reports when necessary.
- Follow company policies regarding confidentiality and privacy of passengers.
Qualifications:
Preferred qualifications include:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Experience working with children, individuals with disabilities, or behavioral health clients preferred.
- Strong communication and conflict-resolution skills.
- Ability to remain calm and professional in stressful situations.
- Dependable attendance and punctuality.
- Ability to pass background check and any required clearances.
