Job Summary
This role is designed for someone who thinks like a manager.
We are hiring a quality‑control‑driven bookkeeping professional who leads by setting high standards, identifying issues early, and holding financial work to an exceptional level of accuracy and consistency. While hands‑on bookkeeping is part of the role, quality control, accountability, and leadership take priority.
This is currently a part‑time position with a clearly defined path to a full‑time Team Leader role, ideal for an experienced bookkeeper who wants to move beyond task execution and into ownership, oversight, and mentoring.

Eligibility & Logistics
- Residency: Must be a U.S. resident
- Location: Must be based in, or within 50 miles of Liberty Township, Ohio
- Schedule: Part‑time with flexible hours
- Work Style: Primarily remote; collaboration via Microsoft Teams
- Travel: Occasional, light travel to local client sites may be required
Primary Responsibilities (Highest Priority)
- Own quality control across client bookkeeping files
- Review work for accuracy, completeness, and GAAP alignment
- Catch errors and inconsistencies before they reach clients
- Act as a point of accountability for financial quality
- Recommend workflow and process improvements
- Serve as a day‑one quality leader with a path to formal team leadership
Bookkeeping Responsibilities (Supporting Role)
- Perform and oversee journal entries, bank reconciliations, and balance sheet reconciliations
- Manage 2-3 of our larger clients
- Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable
- Assist with payroll posting and reconciliation
- Maintain clean, accurate general ledger records
- Prepare and review financial reports
- Support budgeting, account analysis, and tax compliance (sales tax, payroll filings, 1099s)
- Utilize QuickBooks Online as the core accounting platform
Required Qualifications
- Experience: 3+ years of professional bookkeeping or accounting experience
- Quality Control Mindset: Proven ability to review work, catch discrepancies, and uphold high standards
- Leadership Orientation: Comfortable taking ownership, giving feedback, and setting expectations
- Technology: Advanced proficiency in QuickBooks Online (required)
- QBO ProAdvisor certification preferred (not required)
- Accounting Knowledge:
- Strong understanding of GAAP
- Deep comfort with reconciliations and financial statement integrity
- Work Style:
- Highly detail‑oriented
- Able to work independently and manage priorities
- Strong follow‑through and accountability
Bonus (Not Required):
- Non‑profit accounting experience
- Payroll and tax compliance exposure
