- Shift: 3 x 12-hour night shifts (19:00 - 07:30) – Night Shift PCU RN
- Hours per Week: 36
- Estimated Weekly Pay: $1940-$2040/week
- Patient Ratio: 1:3 (PCU nurse / telemetry nurse)
- Float Requirement: May float to units of equivalent or lower acuity within the organization
- Weekend & Holiday Coverage: Weekdays, some weekends, and rotating holidays required
Qualifications & Requirements
- Minimum 2 years of recent PCU, telemetry, or progressive care experience required
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license: compact or Ohio RN license in hand at submission
- Graduation from an ACEN- or CCNE-accredited nursing program
- BLS and ACLS certifications required
- EPIC charting experience required (electronic medical record proficiency)
- Clinical skills: IV start, telemetry monitoring, interpretation/management of dysrhythmias, IV insulin protocols, titration of insulin drips, central and peripheral line care/management, heparin protocols, management of cardiac drips (no titration), high flow nasal cannula (HFNC)
- Previous travel nursing experience preferred (travel nurse jobs in Ohio)
- Flu vaccine required (medical exemptions only)
- Two professional references required (at least one from a manager/director or formal leadership role)
Core Responsibilities
- Deliver high-quality nursing care to adult and geriatric patients across cardiology, pulmonology, renal, hepatology, and adult cystic fibrosis populations
- Monitor and manage patients requiring cardiac drips, heparin, insulin drips, high flow oxygen, and heated high flow oxygen (HFNC)
- Initiate IVs, manage central and peripheral lines, and perform continuous telemetry monitoring and dysrhythmia management
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams including IV teams, physical therapy, respiratory therapy, radiology, pharmacy, and case management
- Float to other units within the organization as needed and provide safe, flexible staffing support
- Participate in rotating holiday and weekend coverage as a dependable hospital RN
- Maintain accurate, timely documentation using EPIC and adhere to hospital policies and patient safety standards
